He is Risen! Happy Easter!

We had a great Easter weekend! I think it's so easy to get caught up in our day to day lives and forget that we are all sinners and that it is only because of Christ and His love for us that we are redeemed. Praise the Lord for giving us the Easter season to remind us of the beautiful gift we have!

My whole family was in town and we've spent every night since Friday at my parents', eating, drinking, dyeing eggs, having impromptu egg-throwing contests (both vertical and horizontal), impromptu choreographed dancing, and of course more eating! It was a great time to hang out with the family.

On Sunday we joined Mom and Dad at their new church, Incarnation, in Dallas. It was a lovely service and I really enjoyed the music, sermon, flowers, and the beautiful stained glass of the church! I'm really happy my parents have found a new church home with some old friends and a rector they love.

After church we went back to Mom and Dad's and ate a HUGE brunch. Mom assigned us all jobs this year, and I was in charge of the strawberry cake. I made it from scratch and it turned out great! But my real accomplishment were the Easter cake pops I made. See pics below and a link to the blog were I got the recipe. We had our first annual big kid's egg hunt. It was ridiculous but really fun!
